Ruth Etta Booze Cochran, 4 Dec 1938 - 16 Nov 2024

Ruth Etta Booze Cochran, 85, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

Ruth was born on December 4, 1938, in Jellico, TN, to the late Earl and Cornelia Leach Booze Sr.

She was a loving, devoted, and giving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

Ruth was a member of Freedom Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church and worked as a secretary at Southeastern Distributors with her husband, Kendall for several years.

She volunteered at Contact Concern, attended Bible Study Fellowship, and served as a youth leader at Hinesville Baptist Church, Hinesville, GA and First Christian Church, Kingsport, TN.

Ruth enjoyed singing, cooking, and playing the piano.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Kendall W. Cochran II.

Left to cherish Ruth’s memory are her husband of 65 years, Kendall W. Cochran; daughters, Melanie Honaker (Richard) and Kimberly Sue Adams; son, Kendall W. Cochran III (Penny); grandchildren, Linnea Adams, Daniel Lee Pridemore, Sarah Marie Hazlewood (Travis), MacKenzie Shortt (Tyler), and Kaitlin Cochran; great-grandchild, Bryson Hazlewood; sister, Mary Hilton; brother, Earl Booze Jr. (Judy); and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends 6:00-7:00 pm Thursday, November 21, 2024, in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home.

A Celebration of life Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Sam Murray and Dr. Phil Hoskins officiating.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, November 22, 2024, at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
